Bars and nightclubs in Stockholm
Stockholm’s best bars and nightclubs
Stockholm has a rich and varied array of nightclubs, many of which are concentrated around Stureplan and along Kungsgatan up toward Sveavägen. But don’t forget Södermalm’s offerings of bars and nightclubs, often seen as the young and trendy alternative.
In the Söder neighborhood, nightlife is less concentrated around squares such as Stureplan. But from Slussen and Götgatsbacken, most venues are within walking distance. Don’t forget about SoFo – the South of Folkungsgatan neighborhood – or the area around Hornstull (also known as “Knivsöder”), which has undergone tremendous development in recent years.

On a beautiful sunny day, this is an absolute must-see. Josefina keeps the terrace open from May to September. And don’t worry about inclement weather. In case of rain, most of the terrace is covered and there are heaters that produce a wonderful atmosphere.
SNAPS BAR & BISTRO
In 1846, this was where you would be having your last meal before meeting your maker on Mosebacke Square. We’re not quite as dramatic these days. Today, we’re a classic cocktail bar that boasts Stockholm’s most fun patrons. Snaps is located at Medborgarplatsen, Södermalm’s unofficial center and it’s a well-attended destination, not least in the summer.
